Activity First Aid Level 2 - Available as Part 1 Online, Part 2 in the Classroom
The purpose of the level 2 award in Activity First Aid is to provide the learner with all the skills, knowledge and understanding of first aid to provide appropriate care and manage life threatening conditions, illness and injuries sustained in an activity setting or event. This is achieved through the understanding of the general duties, responsibilities and treatment principles of first aid.
Anaphylaxis Awareness
This course is aimed at anyone who requires a course in Anaphylaxis Awareness. The course covers the use of Epi-Pens, Emerade, and Jext as well as recognised signs. treatments, concerns and activating the EMS as well as care for the patient. We have a 100% classroom course for this and the certificate is valid for 3 years. To renew complete the same course again. When you have successfully completed the online or classroom course, you will be issued a ProTrainings wall certificate and wallet card.
Some of our online and classroom courses also include Anaphylaxis training and in some cases can be integrated with another course and dual certified by ProTrainings.
Anaphylaxis For Healthcare Professionals
Healthcare Anaphylaxis is aimed at healthcare professionals who require a more advanced course in Anaphylaxis care. The course covers all the same as our standard course with the addition of the special considerations that healthcare professionals face.
The course is based on the recommendations for Anaphylaxis care as laid down by the UK Resuscitation Council.
The course covers the use of Epi-Pens, Jext and Emerade as well as recognition of signs, treatment, concerns and activating the EMS as well as care for the patient. We have 100% classroom course for this and the certificate is valid for 1 year. To renew complete the same course again.
Appointed Persons in the workplace
Business' in the UK have to make correct provision for first aid in the workplace and the Appointed Persons course is ideal for small business' as well as extra coverage in medium to large business'. This course is taught under the guidelines of the HSE First Aid at Work Regulations 1981. If you require a classroom course EFAW is ideal but this course is 100% online; saving you time and money to comply with your training requirements. The certificate is valid for 3 years and to renew you just need to complete another appointed persons course.
This course can be completed 100% online unlike the other workplace courses as it is designed to give an employee a basic understanding of first aid requirements and basic treatments. The HSE recommend that all first aiders complete an annual first aid refresher course and our online course meets these requirements.
Asbestos Awareness
Asbestos is a danger in many different sectors and it is estimated that 20 tradesman, 4 plumbers, 6 electricians, and 8 joiners die every week from this hidden killer. It is important to know when there may be a risk of exposure and how to avoid coming in to contact with Asbestos.
Asbestos was extensively used as a building material in the UK from the 1950's to the mid 1980's. It was used for a variety of purposes and was ideal for fire proofing and insulation. Any building built before 2000 can obtain asbestos and they can be homes, schools, offices or hospitals. Asbestos materials in good condition are safe unless asbestos fibres become airborne, which happens when materials are damaged.
This course covers risk, why we need to avoid exposure and what can happen with exposure or when you are exposed, as well as what to do if you come across Asbestos to ensure you and your work colleagues are kept safe.
The certificate is valid for 3 years but to comply with HSE recommendations it is advised to complete a refresher every year.
Basic First Aid
Basic first aid is aimed where training is needed but does not comply with HSE rules but does cover first aid subjects with n o set minimum time requirements making it a flexible course for all. The course covers primary and some secondary skills allowing the flexibility to add extra subjects where needed.
This course does not cover workplace training where the EFAW, FAW and Appointed Persons course is better suited.
Beauty Therapy First Aid
People involved in beauty therapy require first aid training as they will, in their line of work, come across medical problems that require attention. In this course we cover the types of problems that ou could face and meeting compliance needs.
Care Certificate
The care certificate is the start of the career journey for these staff groups and is only one element of the training and education that will make them ready to practice within their specific sector. Although the care certificate is designed for new staff that are new to care and offers this group of staff their first step on their career ladder, it is also offers opportunities for existing staff to refresh or improve their knowledge.
The training course is designed to give you the basic training to meet the theory needs of the Skills for Care 2015 Care Certificate. This course covers all the theory modules of the 15 standards in the care certificate. Once completed, your workplace can use this course as evidence of competence to sign off these modules against the employees training record. With the addition of the required workplace assessments, the employer can issue the care certificate.

Prevention of accidents is very important and the correct care for your cat can prevent it from getting hurt or becoming ill. On this course we discuss different things you need to think about when you get a cat or kitten.
This course is aimed to go alongside our pet first aid course to look at caring for your dog rather than dealing with an emergency. We discuss choosing a cat or kitten and look at the pedigree cat side so that when you choose, you know questions to ask. We also cover the care you give once you have a cat or kitten.
Common Induction Standards
Induction training in the care sector provides a valuable start to care workers new jobs. The problem has been to have a course that covers enough content to meet the standards in a flexible format.
Since 2010 the Common Induction Standards (CIS) have been a key part of the early training for all adult social care staff. The CIS 2010 replaced the CIS of 2005. The CIS are to be completed before or within 12 weeks from the start of the employment by the employee and they include several key areas.
This ProTrainings course covers the eight standards using informative videos and when used with in work training and experience you can easily meet these standards. This course can be completed in one sitting or over a period of time nationally through our approved and monitored national network of instructors. Care managers need to ensure that employees have all met the standards.

Control of Substances Hazardous to Heath - COSHH Level 2
Control of Substances Hazardous to Health or COSHH regulations apply to any substance that could cause injury or illness to someone and covers most work places. If you are dealing with chemicals, even paints and toilet cleaning chemicals or creating anything that could damage someone you are responsible under COSHH.

This course is very in-depth and covers: What COSHH means, COSHH Regulations, types of Hazardous Substance, how can you be affected, protection and accidental exposure.
This ProTrainings level 2 course covers all the basics and is ideal for all members of staff either as induction training or regular training to ensure that everyone knows what the rules are and how to keep safe. In the course we cover all aspects of COSHH including the latest CPL regulations.
This course is available fully online or nationally though our national network of approved instructors and is a half day course with a guided learning hours of 4. It can also be taken alongside our health & safety courses.

CPR/BLS & AED Level 2 - Available as Part 1 Online, Part 2 in Classroom

Dementia Awareness
Dementia Awareness has received a lot of press recently as understanding Dementia and understanding sufferers needs is very important. This course is available as an online video, blended, or class based course; nationally delivered over a half day, full day or two days depending on your needs.
The aims of the course are to have a wider understanding about Dementia, signs and symptoms, causes and treatments, and how to communicate to a dementia patients and engage them in activities, develop strategies for intervening with challenging behaviors and communication difficulties.
Dentist CPR/BLS

Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLS)
Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLS) is a part of the Mental Capacity Act 2005. Deprivation of Liberty, also know as DOLS and or safeguards, aim to protect people in care homes and hospitals from being inappropriately deprived of their liberty.
The DOLS or safeguards have been put in place to make sure that a care home or hospital only restricts someone's liberty safely and correctly and that it is done when there is no other way to take care of that person safely. This course covers the rules and planning needed to ensure compliance and understanding.

DSE or Display Screen Equipment safety training highlights the correct posture and working position for people working at desks and with any type of display. Many medical conditions arise from incorrect posture and equipment positioning like neck and back problems, headaches, stiffness, sight problems as well as arm, wrist and hand conditions.
Family First Aid
This course is for anyone who requires a course in family first aid. This course is aimed at the needs of the family and covers primary and secondary care skills for adults, children and infants. Knowing what to do in an emergency is an excellent life skill to learn and the course covers many subjects that you may come across.
The certificate is valid for 3 years and a recommended annual refresher can be taken online.

Fifty Plus First Aid
This course provides basic first aid awareness training and accident prevention to adults over the age of 50. Areas of focus include providing care for partners and dealing with incidents involving younger members of the family. There is also a section on pet first aid.
After this course the learner will have a greater understanding of the possible injuries and illness' that could affect all age groups. He/she will understand why immediate care is vital to ensure that pain and suffering is reduced as much as possible and will have more confidence to deal with an emergency situation, should it arise.
First Aid at Work Annual Refresher
The First aid at Work refresher course is for anyone who wishes to fulfill the strong recommendations by the HSE (first aid regulations 1981) that all first aiders in business should annually refresh their first aid skills. This regulation is valid for every sector in and out of the workplace. This course can be complete online or in the classroom with one of our local approved instructors. This course is also ideal for many other sectors including Basic Life Support for people who just want to know a little more about first aid.
Keeping first aid skills refreshed is an HSE recommendation and our online course offers an easy and effective method of meeting these recommendations as the course is all video based, much easier and more interesting.

First Aid training is not only a good life skill for everyone to learn but also a required mandatory training needed annually in many professions. The First Aid Plus course is our most comprehensive course, covering a wide variety of primary and secondary care subjects.

Food Hygiene Level 1
Our food hygiene/food safety course covers all the basics on food preparations and care when preparing food for others. This level 2 course is for general food hygiene training aimed at people working directly with food. We also offer a level 1 course that covers the basics of food safety.

Lone Workers
Working alone is not in itself against the law, and it will often be safe to do so, however the law requires employers and others to think about and deal with any health and safety risks and or hazards of the work before people should be allowed to work alone. Employers have responsibility for the health, safety and welfare at work of all of their employees. They are also responsible for the health and safety of those affected by work activities, for example any self-employed people they engage and visitors such as contractors.
Lone worker training ensures that lone workers have knowledge to keep safe at work and employers understand their responsibilities.
Martial Arts First Aid
Martial arts by nature presents a risk. When carried out correctly, injury does not usually occur, but in the case where is does, the responsible precaution is for everyone to have a basic understanding of what to do. Specifically designed to cater for the injuries that could occur with martial arts training classes and covers different subjects that would apply to any martial arts sector. This course covers injuries including contact injuries, cardiac arrest, as well as illnesses like allergic reaction. First aid is an easy skill to learn and the training is delivered in a series of short videos with knowledge review questions to increase understanding. All videos are filmed in a martial arts setting and based on real problems that you may face.
Medications
Medications training is required in many sectors including the care industry to ensure that all staff have a basic understanding of the important rules when handling medications.
This course gives you the knowledge to understand the legal framework and how the organisation's policies and procedures reflect the legal framework; for safe handling of medicines, to understanding the importance of noting and reporting any changes to individuals following administration of medicines; and managers' responsibilities and the implementation of ongoing monitoring of the care worker.

Mental Capacity Act
Mental Capacity Act training is required in many sectors including the care sector. The aim of this course is to promote understanding of what constitutes mental capacity, promote understanding of the provisions of the Mental Capacity Act 2005, promote awareness of how the Mental Capacity Act 2005 relates to other legislation, and promote understanding of the carers responsibilities under the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
By the end of the session candidates will understand the core principles of the Mental Capacity Act, capacity testing, appropriate record keeping and understand how complying with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 promotes a person centered approach to care. Moving People Safely Level 2
This course is ideal for all workplace requirements and includes safer moving and positioning of people as well as manual handling of objects. This qualification is intended as a further development qualification for those working in areas where the assistance and movement of people is an essential part of their role.

The course is designed to meet the requirements and recommendations of the HSE Manual Handling Regulations 1992 as well as other relevant regulations and guidelines.
This course can be taken as an online, blended or classroom course by one of our approved instructors. The online course also acts as a good refresher course for those who just need their skills to be refreshed.
Oxygen Provider
This course is for anyone who requires a course in oxygen for first aid. This course covers the basics of how to deliver oxygen in a first aid emergency. Oxygen delivered within first aid by a trained rescuer can provide an effective way of saving a life or just promoting recovery.
On this course you will learn the basics of how to assemble, use and disassemble an oxygen kit. Oxygen is a simple skill but there are safety concerns, and these are also covered in full on this course.
Added to the course is the use of bag valve masks (BVM) to deliver without breaths; without direct mouth contact as well as being able to deliver the breaths using 100% oxygen. This online course also covers the use of automatic or demand systems but neither versions cover medical gasses training like Entonox.
The certificate is valid for 3 years and an annual refresher is recommended.
Paediatric First Aid - Available as Part 1 Online, Part 2 in Classroom
Online - This course can be used as the online part of our 2 day Paediatric First Aid for childminders or as a stand alone online course. It is ideal for families and others who require a one day course in first aid for adults, infants and and children but do not need a course that meets the requirements of Ofsted or SureStart. The course covers life saving skills but in an informal flexible timetable.
Classroom - The classroom version is ideal and covers the basics of how to deal with accidents and illness that can arise when caring for children, and for those who do not require a course for work.
This course can be completed as the online part of a 2 part blended course. After completing this online course, you may find and attend the classroom only part 2 course and cut down on the number of actual days spent in the classroom.
Paediatric First Aid for Nannies & Au Pairs - Available as Part 1 Online, Part 2 in Classroom
The Ofsted requirements for Nannies and Au Pairs depend on whether registration is required. If you choose to register, in most cases people working with children including Nannies, Au Pairs and Childcare workers still need the 2 day 12 hour course to meet the set requirements. If you are looking at also entering other childcare sectors, then the full 2 day or our blended Paediatric course would be best.
Regulations for the Childcare Register require the childminder or home child carer to have an appropriate first aid qualification. However, it is for the provider to determine whether these minimum standards are appropriate for the type of care they provide and whether more advanced training or qualification is required.
This one day or online/blended course is for Nannies and Au Pairs who do not need to register. This is 6 contact hours course can be taken as a classroom course or blended using ProNanny.co.uk and is also ideal as an annual refresher for any paediatric first aid course. This course can be completed as the online part 1 of a 2 part blended course. After completing this online course you may find and attend the classroom only part 2 course provided locally by one of our approved instructors and cut down on the number of actual days spent in the classroom.
Pet First Aid
This course is for anyone who requires a first aid course specifically for pets. It is ideal for pet owners or pet professionals. It covers the main first aid subjects for dog and cats but this information is also suitable for most other animals. Understanding basic first aid for your pet will give you the skills to assist them and prevent them from getting worse before professional help can be given by your vet.
With the online course we have added extra videos which you will be able to see for 8 months to keep you up to date with your skills. With online and classroom courses you will receive free weekly refresher video emails to keep your skills fresh and to up date you. All students will receive a free login area to our website where you can download a free student manual and control other settings. Online students can print off their certificate on completion and classroom students will receive an official ProTrainings wall certificate and wallet card in the post after the course.

Pro Paediatric - Online and Blended 2 day Paediatric First Aid
Online - This course can be used as the online part of our 2 day Paediatric First Aid for childminders or as a stand alone online course. It is ideal for families and others who require a one day course in first aid for adults, infants and and children but do not need a course that meets the requirements of Ofsted or SureStart. The course covers life saving skills but in an informal flexible timetable.
Classroom - The classroom version is ideal and covers the basics of how to deal with accidents and illness that can arise when caring for children, and for those who do not require a course for work.
This course can be completed as the online part of a 2 part blended course. After completing this online course, you may find and attend the classroom only part 2 course and cut down on the number of actual days spent in the classroom.
Risk Assessment Level 2
This course can be taken as a video online course on our risk assessment site or as a trainer led course that is delivered over a full day.
The course aims are to give an understanding of the importance of risk assessment and current applicable legislation. This is to promote awareness and understanding of what constitutes as a hazard, to promote understanding of the 5 steps of carrying out a risk assessment, and to give an understanding of different control measures and hoe these might be implemented.
By the end of this session candidates will understand the importance of risk assessment and current applicable legislation, understand what constitutes as a hazard, understand the hierarchy of controls, and be able to carry out a risk assessment.
This qualification is designed to be an introduction to the principles of risk assessment. It covers why risk assessments are necessary, the legal requirements relating to risk assessments and simple processes for carrying out a risk assessment. It is suitable for learners working in any environment who need to be more risk aware by raising their knowledge of risk in the workplace and basic thin gs they can do to control it.
Safe Moving & Handling Level 2
This course is for anyone who requires a course in manual handling and is ideal for all work place requirements and is also designed to meet the requirements and recommendations of the HSE Manual Handling Regulations 1992.
Correct manual handling training will reduce the risk of accidents occurring by identifying and preventing them. Manual handling is not difficult to learn but can save a a lot of problems for employers and employees. This course covers the moving of objects, but we also have online and classroom courses for the Moving and Handling of Positioning People.
Please note: Learners undertaking a ProTrainings Training Course have the option to chose to take a regulated qualification.
Safeguarding of Children (Child Protection)
This course is aimed at training individuals who work with children to ensure they know how to identify and report possible cases of abuse and neglect. Children are at risk in many environments and training will ensure understanding of the problems, avoiding possible situations ans dealing with abuse and neglect once identified.
This course covers the basics to ensure that staff, family or individuals are able to deal with this sensitive subject.

Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults
Safeguarding adults is delivered over one 3 hour session. The course aims are to promote awareness of what constitutes abuse and neglect, promote understanding of the different types of abuse and neglect, promote understanding of what makes individuals vulnerable, promote understanding of what disclosure and whistle-blowing are and details legislation relevant to safeguarding of adults.
By the end of this session, candidates will be able to identify types of abuse, identify when abuse has happened/is happening, understanding how to report and record issues that may be witnessed or disclosed, and understand how to help prevent abuse and neglect.

Sports First Aid
This course is for anyone who requires a course specifically in sports first aid and is available as a classroom, blended or online course. The certificate is valid for 3 years and a recommended annual refresher can be done online.
Student First Aid
At ProTrainings we believe that every school child should learn basic first aid skills but this is difficult and costly to schools.
